Project Summary

The project involved the supply of residual chlorine monitors to upgrade an existing buffered system used to control chlorination. The water at Mitchells house is low conductivity and is high in manganese. Parts of the process run at elevated pH. Chlorine monitoring in these circumstances is traditionally difficult. As part of the project performance trails were undertaken with pH corrected and buffered chlorine monitors. For ease of use and reduced calibration pH corrected and buffered systems were installed.

Added Value/Benefits

The new pH systems run without reagent. The most difficult application was on soft water with high Mn content and a pH that could vary for 7.5 to 10, buffered units were used, the ATi buffered system only use 25 litres per year of reagents, much less than competitive products.
